Mariam Hamdy, has extensive experience in the artistic, academic, and business sides of the film industry, combining her work as an independent filmmaker, film academic, and business professional. She is the founder of Silverscreen Film School and co-founder of Silver Screen Distribution. With many years as a film lecturer at the American University in Cairo and, more recently, at UBB in Cluj Napoca, Romania, Mariam has trained numerous students in filmmaking. Alongside her academic career, Mariam is an Arabic voice-over actress, known for voicing Eep in The Croods, as well as characters in Zootopia, Turbo, and other popular films available on Netflix and Disney+. Mariam also has a wealth of experience in film curation and programming, particularly focusing on films for women and young audiences. Passionate about supporting new voices in film, she works to bridge cultures and create dialogue through cinema. She is experienced in organizing film festivals, handling everything from film selection to event execution. As a co-founder of the Pasaje International Film Festival (PIF), Mariam is committed to expanding cinema’s reach globally. With her expertise in both creative and business aspects of the film industry, she blends film knowledge with years of experience in marketing and management.

Octavian Dăncilă, co-founder of Silver Screen, with 10 years experience in film industry and festival programming for Transilvania International Film Festival & BFI London Film Festival, currently cinema programmer at Victoria in Cluj Napoca.

With a consistent knowledge in film distribution and Romanian market, Octavian holds an MA in Film Programming & Curating at the National Film & Television School in Beaconsfield, UK.
